Hailing from Asbury Park, New Jersey, Lake Champagne began as a duo featuring Alix Gagliastro and Ryan Doyle. Alix’s powerful voice and unique sound caught the attention of local musicians, wanting her to perform on stage with them. Their open mic appearances turned into performances around the Monmouth County area, and soon tours to Nashville, North Carolina, Woodstock, and the Poconos. The duo soon put together a full band of rotating players from the local music scene, pushing them to further limits and gathering more attention. Alix’s vocals sound like the lovechild of Stevie Nicks and Amy Winehouse combined with a unique blend of indie, alternative, blues, and soul backing her. Their lead single “Leave Me Alone” was a finalist in the annual Anti Valentines Day songwriting contest in 2019. It’s no surprise that they caught the attention of Telegraph Hill Records to put out their debut EP in 2021. You can catch them all around the Jersey Shore toting wacky outfits, smug faces and the occasional smile.
